I've had my thyroid gland removed - will this reduce the speed of my weight loss? I take thyroxin and also 1 alpha calcium since my para thyroids were damaged during my operation. I regularly have blood tests and they are always normal. Another question. I was on 200 mcgs of thyroxin but the specialist reduced this to 175, even though the levels were normal , saying that prolonged intake of 200 thyroxine would lead to brittle bones and heart disease. but how is 175 normal when 200 was also normal. (blood tests) and because the thyroxin was reduced by 25 wouldn't I naturally put on weight. these are my questions I would be grateful if you could answer them because it confuses me. Thank you.
