Why am I struggling?

Why am I struggling? I have been here since November and only lost 11lbs, I think I am doing everything right, although my exercise is probably lacking a bit, but I do eat healthy (I think). I have recently changed my profile from 1400 cals to 1692 to see if it will give me a boost, but it hasn't. Can you tell me where I'm going wrong?? Thanks.

Hi.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel that you are struggling at the moment, but please don't lose sight of the fact that you have lost 11lbs since November. That is quite an achievement and it is a well documented fact that the slower your weight loss the longer it tends to stay off!

It is difficult to comment on your diet without knowing what you eat, however you believe it to be healthy, which is good. You admit to possibly being low on exercise and it is certainly worth increasing this, whilst maintaining your calories, as this is most likely to stimulate weight loss. Take a look in the exercise and fitness forum for some ideas or ask Kelly, our Fitness Consultant, for some help to get you motivated.

In terms of your diet, you could try not eating any carbohydrates after 6pm and filling up on lean protein and loads of vegetables for your evening meal. Some people find this helpful in kick-starting weight loss when it has slowed down, so it is worth a try to see if it helps you. It is also easy to get stuck in a rut when you are slimming, as you feel 'safe' eating certain foods. However, it is good for your body (and weight loss!) to shake things up every so often. If this applies to you, think about some changes you can bring into your daily diet.

Above all, keep going and don't give up! You have obviously been doing something right for the past 5 months to lose the weight you have lost.
