Hi there, I recall reading somewhere that drinking carbonated water isn't so good for you? Is there any truth in this please as I am hooked on the Voss Sparkling Water and I prefer this to the still version. Don't want to sabotage myself. Thanks! :)
Hi Liz
Thanks for your message.
There have been many negative articles against sparkling water over the years, but to date there is no evidence that sparkling water is detrimental at all. The only slight cause for concern is that there may be a damaging effect to tooth enamel, but this is unproven and the effects that have been seen are very slight.
In terms of weight loss, sparkling water is just as good as still because it's calorie free, so including sparkling water in your diet is absolutely fine. Make sure you stay hydrated through drinking water or other drinks such as tea, coffee, diet drinks or squashes, and through eating plenty of fruit and veg.
Hope this helps to put your mind at rest :-)
Janet
