Hi, I eat two bananas a day - please could you tell me if that's to much and if so how much should I be having or not?
Hi there,
Thanks for your question.
Having two bananas a day is absolutely fine - these are full of vitamins which are very good for our health. In terms of your health eating 1,2,3 or even 4 bananas per day is fine. Although they contain quite a lot of potassium, you would have to eat a lot of bananas all in one go to have any harmful effects from too much potassium.
But just to mention, when it comes to fruit and vegetables, variety is key. You should aim to eat a rainbow of fruits/veg each day - as different coloured foods are rich in different nutrients. Eating a rainbow will ensure you are getting a good mix of vitamins and minerals in your diet. Eating two bananas a day is absolutely fine, as long as you are including a variety of other 5-a-day items in your diet as well.
I hope this helps and please get in touch if you need anything further.
Kind regards
Emma
