I have been using this service for over a week now and have kept within my 1400 calories a day and burned well over 200 calories a day in exercise as well. However on two occasions I overate by 25 calories and another by 41. Not to sound obsessive, but is this really a big deal when I am still in a big calorie deficit due to the amount of exercise I do? Is it true that the ratio for weight loss is 70:30 of eating and exercising? thanks, Sylvie
Hi Sylvie
No, being over by 41 and 25 calories a day is not excessive, though over a longer period of time obviously it would be better if you were under by a tiny amount as often as you were over by a tiny amount. If you are in any sort of calorie deficit you should still lose weight, though the rate of loss obviously depends on how big that calorie deficit is.
There’s no real rule or ideal for how much of your weight loss is attributable to cutting calories and how much to exercise. But all the evidence points to the fact that being active for some portion of every day will help, and being more vigourously active say three times a week is even better.
All the best
Angela
