Sinead's story
How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?
I've lost 9st 12lbs138bs62.6kg but I plan to lose another few stone to be healthy.
What prompted your decision to lose weight?
In January I got really sick with a second condition and I wasn't sure if I was going to pull through. The thought of not seeing my son, step children and grandson grow up scared me and made me realise it was time to make big changes. I needed to do everything I've been putting off for years. I was existing before and now I'm living.
How did you hear about Nutracheck?
I joined a calorie counting group on Facebook and the app was recommended by quite a few people on there.
Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?
I've always been big but getting sick 3 years ago with fibromyalgia. Being immobile and taking a lot of different medications meant I put a lot of weight on.
Have you experienced any health improvements?
In January I could barely walk up my stairs and going out would send me into an anxiety attack because I knew the pain would be too much. My life was so limited. Now, if I want to go out I can so I can walk my dogs again and meet up with my friends. I still have my bad days because of my fibromyalgia but now I'm not confined to my house 24/7 like I used to be.
How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?
At first I wasn't quite sure what I was doing but the app is so easy to use and it made the transition easy. Now it's something I will continue to use for life.
What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?
The days I'm feeling exhausted making time to make sure I still measure and weigh.
How do you feel now compared to before?
I feel like I have my life back. My mental health has also improved too.
Any notable milestones to report?
I have lots of little milestones such as towels fitting, wearing what I like and not what covers me, my confidence and also doing things I've always put off.
What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?
- Don't compare your journey to anyone elses.
- Set small realistic goals rather than one big goal.
- Take lots of progress photos to look back on and see how far you have come.
