How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I've lost 5st 70lbs 31.7kg in 10 months an average of 2lb a week.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I had chronic fatigue and widespread pain. I was also worried, at the weight I was, of developing type 2 diabetes. I was also unhappy with how I looked.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I read a lot of articles on how to lose weight, and Nutracheck was recommended with the importance of counting calories. I was shocked at how many calories I was consuming, even though I thought I was being careful.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

No, I always struggled with weight – partly genetics but mainly lifestyle and poor diet choices.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

I decided to plan my life around diet and exercise, not the other way round. I did a 4:3 diet and would avoid socialising on fasting days.

What was the most difficult thing?

Fast days but I always stayed highly motivated and focused on my goals with a weekly weigh in, so I could see the results.

How do you feel now compared to before?

Fantastic! Also, due to my weight, my blood pressure was high. I discovered one medicated drug had a significant effect on my muscles. Once I found this, I could increase the amount of exercise I did. I've gone from a daily walk to swimming, then cycling. I've also now started going to the gym. I'm now a weight that I'm happy with, so now it's all about maintaining and getting fitter. I really enjoy exercise where once I did not.

Any notable milestones to report?

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Count every calorie by planning ahead and changing what you intend to eat if the figures don't add up.
  2. Pick an exercise you enjoy and gradually build what you're doing as the weight comes off. It does get easier!
  3. You have to want to do it. As much as humanly possible, make it your number one priority in life and be very patient.
