How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost 8st112lbs50.8kg in 2 years.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

It was after my diagnosis of fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and the arrival of my two grandchildren, that I realised if I wanted to see them grow up I needed to change my lifestyle to be able to appreciate them.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I had seen an advert on Facebook about Nutracheck and it sounded like a fantastic tool to help me with my journey.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight just kept going up over the years and I was in denial about it.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I am now a diabetic in remission and my liver functions are back to a normal range. I am only on one blood pressure tablet instead of four.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

It was very easy to fit the changes into my lifestyle. I'm a chef so the preparation and cooking of healthier food wasn't a problem but I still had to calorie count my takeaways when I didn’t want to cook. I only work a mile from home so I have started walking to and from work and have just invested in an electric bike to go for family bike rides.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

The most difficult part was keeping myself motivated but I did go to a club to keep myself accountable and to have a support network.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel so much better mentally and physically. My aches and pains aren't there anymore, and I can keep up with my grandchildren. I now enjoy bike riding and walking.

Any notable milestones to report?

My milestones have been having to purchase a totally new wardrobe as nothing fits any longer. In all seriousness, it’s the health benefits and hopefully a longer healthier life.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Don't give up when it gets tough, keep in mind why your doing it and visualise the end result.
  2. Ask for help and advice from family and friends and enjoy the journey.
  3. Don't set a massive goal to try and achieve as it’s not a sprint. Instead, it's a personal journey and I believe you will get there in your own time.
