How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I weighed 17st 3lbs241lbs109.3kg when I first started using Nutracheck and I now weigh 13st 7lbs 189lbs 85.7kg.

So far I have been weighing in every Thursday since October 2021. It only took me until November 2022 to lose 4st56lbs25.4kg through using the app - the rest of the weight loss has come from using the app and exercising more.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I had stopped smoking on New Year's Eve and I was about to turn 30 in February 2021. I then gained at least another 1.5st and I was ready to change my life. Stopping smoking was the first step for me.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I heard about Nutracheck from my fiancé at the time who was also using the app.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I was never overweight as a child or a teenager, but throughout my twenties I noticed my weight creeping up. This continued over the years, and I just couldn't seem to stop it.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I have noticed I sleep better and have far more energy. I also used to suffer a lot from psoriasis and and I've found this has cleared up almost completely. I suffer from cluster headaches and a neurological condition which is seasonal and I have medicinal oxygen to treat it. I found the headaches have also massively reduced since losing weight.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

My lifestyle was - and is - like many other people's: Monday to Friday spent at work. I really felt that the routine that came with daily tracking helped with my weight loss, even when I was on constant night shifts for 14 months.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

I found the most difficult thing was the hunger, especially at night, when I first started reducing my portion sizes and daily calorie intake. The temptation to order something or get a snack was very difficult to resist.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I now feel the way I should have felt 10 years ago at 23 and I would never look back.

Any notable milestones to report?

My most notable milestone would have to be reaching my first 2st loss because I had to pretty much buy entirely all new clothes. When I achieved my recent weight loss, I had to do the same.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Be honest with yourself and hold yourself accountable.
  2. If you fall off the wagon, always get back on no matter how futile it seems.
  3. If you become happy with your weight and introduce other apps e.g. fitness apps, keep using Nutricheck as your foundation.
